As an autistic, do you experience aphantasia or can you visualize imagery with ease?

As an autistic, do you experience aphantasia or can you visualize imagery with ease?

On the contrary, I am a very visual person. My memory is very visual. To learn things, I build mental models. Then I check to see if they fit my existing mental model of the world. If not, I must figure out if the error is in my new parts, the existing model, or both.

I would often get unwanted attention from teachers for staring off into space, not taking notes during lectures. What I’m doing, is listening intently and creating mental models, and test fitting them together. If I take notes, I absorb nothing, I just act like a human typewriter.

My visualizing includes both things I’ve seen, and things I’ve only imagined.
